A lot of folks are interested in learning about herbal medicine, and that’s what this ongoing, weekly workshop session is for. Each week I’ll be sharing information about how to work with herbal medicine making techniques like creating infusions, decoctions, infused oils, and salves. Participants can take home samples of the items made during the sessions. We will also talk about getting to know the plants, themselves, through sensory exploration, gardening, historical notes, and ancestral practices.
Cost is $10 per person.
Beginners welcome; experienced folks welcome; kids are welcome. Please know that this herbal workshop space is explicitly NOT anti-Western medicine or anti-vaccination. The Swallow’s Nest is a place for learning and growing, and for helping folks connect to things that support their own health and well-being. Access to medical care is an important resource for many, and we believe that healing is a process and often requires many tools. We also believe that it is wrong to cloud the herbal medicine learning space with anti-science rhetoric, in part, because: Herbal medicine IS science.
We do not diagnose or treat any medical conditions in this workshop space, and this workshop is not an appropriate replacement for medical or mental health care.
